Authorities intensifies their operations across key cities including Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan, and Islamabad In a concerted effort to alleviate the country's power crisis and rejuvenate its economy, the government, in collaboration with military leadership, has launched an aggressive crackdown on electricity theft. The latest figures divulged by authorities unveil the remarkable strides made in curbing this illicit practice, with over 91 billion rupees amassed from perpetrators nationwide and more than 69 thousand individuals apprehended. During the period spanning April 28 to May 5, authorities intensified their operations across key cities including Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan, and Islamabad, resulting in the recovery of 0.13 billion rupees from electricity thieves.

Furthermore, in regions encompassing Peshawar, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Quetta, and recently annexed areas, a substantial sum of 0.272 billion rupees was garnered. The diligence of concerned agencies culminated in the arrest of 21 electricity thieves from various parts of the country, underscoring the resolute commitment to eradicating this scourge from every nook and cranny. Emphasising an unwavering resolve, authorities have pledged to sustain their operations until the complete obliteration of electricity theft nationwide. This commendable endeavour not only signifies a pivotal step towards stabilizing the country's energy sector but also underscores the government's unwavering dedication to fostering a climate of accountability and economic prosperity for all citizens.
