More than 70,000 vehicles carrying tourists entered hill station of Murree during the Eid holidays, as a large number of visitors thronged the scenic resort to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr.  The traffic officials under the supervision of DSP Traffic Ghazi Sohail Shehzad remained present on roads to ensure smooth flow of traffic throughout the holiday period.  Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Murree Imran Razzaq appreciated the performance of traffic police personnel for performing their duties with dedication and commitment.

The CTO said that over 200 traffic officers and personnel were deployed to facilitate tourists and maintain uninterrupted traffic flow in Murree.  He said that despite the heavy influx of vehicles during Eid days, no untoward incident was reported due to effective traffic management and implementation of a comprehensive traffic plan.

He added that more than 11,740 tourists were provided guidance and assistance through various means during the holidays.  Meanwhile, traffic police personnel performed their duties professionally during Ramazan and Eid-ul-Fitr, staying away from their families and working beyond routine responsibilities.  The CTO also announced commendation certificates for traffic wardens and staff who demonstrated outstanding performance.
