A comprehensive plan has been devised to ensure security in Lahore in view of the holy month of Ramadan.Spokesman for the Lahore Police has said that foolproof security is being provided to 4,999 mosques and imambargahs in the provincial capital as over 5,500 police officers and personnel, including traffic police and Dolphin Force personnel, are performing duties. 

He has informed that more than 14,000 volunteers too have taken their positions in and around mosques and imambargahs. On the other hand, CCPO Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana has ordered beefing up security at all mosques and imambargahs as well as at other important sites. He has ordered the divisional officers to ensure field visits during Sehr, Iftar and Taraveeh prayers. 

The CCPO has also made it clear that action will be taken against all those violating the Ramadan Ordinance without any discrimination. Similarly, he has directed that special arrangements be made to regulate traffic at the time of Iftari.
