The government has seized over 1000 tons of smuggled sugar and oil in a crackdown that began in September. The operation, which is being led by the caretaker government and the military, is aimed at curbing illegal smuggling and protecting the country's economy. According to statistics released on Friday, 1052 metric tons of sugar and 0.244 million liters of oil were recovered from across the country during the crackdown. The majority of the seized sugar was recovered from 1.315 metric tons from Balochistan, 0.008 metric tons from Punjab, 0.016 metric tons from Sindh, while the majority of the seized oil 0.020 million Iranian oil recovered from Balochistan.

Experts said that the crackdown on smuggling will have a positive impact on the country's economy. Smuggling deprives the government of much-needed tax revenue and can also lead to shortages of essential goods, which can drive up prices. The government has vowed to continue its crackdown on smuggling and has urged the public to cooperate with the authorities by reporting any suspicious activity.
