Punjab Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) DIG Usman Gondal said that the key leader of the banned organization Al-Qaeda has been arrested from Gujrawala in a joint operation of CTD and secret agencies in Gujranwala. The high-profile terrorist Amin Muhammad, hailing from Afghanistan, was living in Pakistan by creating fake documents. He played an important role in the re-organization of the banned terror outfit Al-Qaeda. “The arrest of Dr. Aminul Haq is very important in the incidents of terrorism in Pakistan. The ID of the arrested terrorist is 002. The name of Dr. Aminul Haq is also included as a Global Terrorist,” Usman Gondal said.

“After the withdrawal of NATO forces, Dr. Amin-ul-Haq visited Afghanistan. In April 2024, Dr. Aminul Haq was present in Afghanistan,” DIG of CTD told media persons. Who is Dr Aminul Haque? As per the Security Council website's updated list of designated terrorists — updated on 19 July 2024— Amin ul Haq Muhammad belonged from Nangarhar province, Afghanistan. He was listed on the terrorists list on 25 January 2001 (amended on 18 Jul. 2007, 16 Dec. 2010, 6 Dec. 2019, 8 Nov. 2022, 2 Feb. 2023). According to the Security Council website, Amin ul Haq Muhammad was the security coordinator for Al-Qaeda leader Usama bin Laden.
