Only 10,000 people participated on first day of PTI long marchBreaking

As many as 9,000 to 10,000 people were included in the PTI’s long march, when it started from Lahore’s Liberty Chowk on Friday. According to the special report released by the Punjab Police on Saturday, on the first day of the march, PTI workers and supporters remained only within 1.5 kilometers of the city.

Giving details about the number of vehicles in the march, the report said that total 22 vans, three Mazda trucks, fitted with light and sound systems, 34 Prado cars, 19 coasters, four buses, six trailers, 20 double cabin vehicles, 66 cars and three tractors were included in it. 

The federal government departments, on the other hand, estimated that total 5,000 to 6,000 people were part of the march at the time of its start. Punjab Police demand over Rs50 million for cops

Provision of security to the participants of PTI’s long march will prove the Punjab Police costly as the Force has demanded over Rs50 million in funds from the Punjab government for arranging meals for the cops as well as under different other heads.

Quoting police officials, the channel reported that more funds would be demanded from the provincial government if duration of the long march was prolonged so that the needs of thousands of police personnel, manning different routes of Lahore and the GT Road, could be met.
