A man was killed in a van-truck collision on Kotmomin-Sargodha road on Tuesday. The deceased was identified as Akhtar Ali, 44, a resident of Noori Manika area. He was traveling to Sargodha from Kotmomin on his van when a speeding truck collided with the vehicle. Ali suffered severe head injuries in the collision and died on the spot. The truck driver fled the scene after the accident. Police have registered a case and are investigating the matter. The accident comes at a time when road accidents are on the rise in Pakistan. According to a recent report by the National Highways and Motorway Police, over 12,000 people were killed in road accidents in Pakistan in 2022.
