One accused was killed during a police encounter in the Civil Lines area, while two accomplices managed to escape.According to the police sources, three accused opened fire on a police party during a blockade on Bird-Wood Road, to which the police retaliated.As a result of the exchange of fire, one accused was seriously injured, while his two accomplices managed to escape from the spot.The sources said that the injured accused was identified as Usman Rashid, who succumbed to his injuries while shifting to a local hospital. Police said that a pistol had been recovered from the accused.
