Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Omar Ayub on Monday dispelled rumours of any division within the party by saying that the PTI didn’t have any bloc other than “Imran Khan bloc”. “We stand firm on our ideology. This artificial government isn’t able to run the country,” he reiterated. Speaking to reporters outside court, the former federal minister said that he was hopeful that incumbent Chief Justice Yahya Afridi would perform his duties fairly. Denying rifts within the ranks of the PTI after issuance of show-cause notice to some party leaders following their alleged involvement in the passage of the 26th Amendment, Ayub said the party’s now general secretary was Salman Akram Raja and the committee didn’t issue any notice to Zain Qureshi. Criticizing the procedure adopted by the government in the passage of the 26th Amendment, he said the government didn’t have required numbers to pass the amendment, pointing out lack of members in the Senate and absence of reserved seats of women from Khyber Paktunkhwa. “Maulana Fazlur Rehman is also a member of opposition like us. Though we have separate ideologies but our target is same,” he added.
