A notorious inter-district robber wanted by Tatlay Aali police in a robbery case was killed during an escape attempt near Begpur, Shamsa Dhadda area, the police said on Wednesday. According to police , the deceased was identified as Shan Ali alias Bhola, a resident of Dhaban Mor, Sheikhupura.

They said on tip off, a police party set up a checkpoint and signalled the suspects to stop, but the accused opened direct fire on the police.  During the exchange of fire, Shan Ali was killed , while the other suspects managed to escape from the scene.  Tatlay Aali police have registered a case , the police said, adding the body was shifted to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Nowshera Virkan for legal formalities.
