Two accused were arrested for spreading misleading and hateful content against state institutions on social media during an operation of National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Punjab. Both suspects were arrested from Bahawalpur and Multan during operation. Accused Muhammad Imran Siddique was arrested from Abbas Nagar, Bahawalpur for sharing misleading content on Instagram.
The other accused Muhammad Rashid Jabbar arrested in Multan for spreading content against state institutions and government officials on Facebook. Two Android mobile phones and related social media accounts recovered from the possession of the arrested suspects. Forensic analysis of digital evidence related to the social media accounts of the arrested persons is underway with further investigation.
