Chairman of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, has said that National Minorities Day is a reminder that Pakistan belongs equally to every citizen, regardless of faith, and that the true strength of the nation lies in the equality, freedom and equal citizenship of all its people. He said that the sacrifices, services and contributions of Pakistan’s minority communities are woven into the very fabric of the nation.

“Their dreams are our dreams, their hopes are our hopes, and their future is inseparable from the future of Pakistan,” he said. The PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, reaffirmed the Party’s unwavering commitment to protecting the constitutional rights, religious freedom and equal citizenship of minority communities. He said the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah calls for a Pakistan where diversity is celebrated as a strength and every citizen can live with dignity, without fear or discrimination.

He said the unanimous Constitution of 1973, the historic gift of Quaid-e-Awam Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto to the nation, guarantees equal rights and religious freedom to all citizens. He added that Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto remained a lifelong champion of human rights, minority rights and equality.

Bilawal also lauded President Asif Ali Zardari for declaring March 11 as National Minorities Day during his first term in office, describing the decision as a reflection of his enduring commitment to tolerance, harmony, and national unity. He called upon the nation to renew its pledge to build a Pakistan where every faith is respected, every voice is heard with dignity, and every citizen enjoys equal rights, opportunities, and a secure future.
