On the instructions of the Prime Minister, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the proposed site of the new international standard convention centre near the Bara Kahu Bypass on Murree Road in Islamabad on Friday morning. After inspecting the site, the Interior Minister issued several orders, saying all types of illegal occupation at the proposed site should be eliminated and legal action should be taken against the occupiers without discrimination. Mohsin Naqvi ordered demolition of all illegal constructions.
He said no concession or compensation will be given to the occupiers. Mohsin Naqvi said it is government’s commitment to provide international standard facilities in Islamabad. The completion of this project will facilitate the holding of other international conferences including the SCO Summit in Pakistan, Mohsin Naqvi said. Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Irfan Memon and high officials were also present on the occasion.
