Naqvi inspects major development projects in IslamabadBreaking

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Thursday visited four major development projects in Islamabad, including the Model Jail, Capital Police College, Police Khidmat Markaz and Ataturk Avenue expansion, during a four-hour inspection tour to review progress.During the visit, the interior minister also laid the foundation stones of the under-construction Islamabad Model Jail, Capital Police College, Police Khidmat Markaz and the Ataturk Avenue expansion project.

Work on the barracks, administrative block and boundary wall at the Model Jail is nearing completion, and it has been decided that the first phase will function as a high-security prison. He also directed that the training of personnel to be deployed at the Model Jail be completed by April 30.Upon his arrival at the Capital Police College, a well-equipped police contingent presented a salute. He handed over two armoured personnel carrier vehicles to Islamabad Police and called for an upgrade plan for the college, directing officials to increase the training capacity from 450 to 4,000.

He further instructed that training courses be aligned with modern requirements, with special emphasis on artificial intelligence (AI), information technology (IT), and physical training. The minister also visited classes for promotional training courses of DSPs and Inspectors, where he interacted with officers and inquired about their training and promotion processes. Additionally, he visited the Police Khidmat Markaz in F-6, where he reviewed facilities, inspected various service counters, and met with citizens to hear their concerns. Citizens expressed satisfaction with the services being provided.
