Federal Minister for Interior, Mohsin Naqvi on Monday contacted Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) Muhammad Ali Randhawa and directed him to ensure swift drainage of water from different areas of the federal capital amid torrential rain. Directing the CDA chief to mobilize the field teams for the drainage of water, he asked the relevant officers and staff to remain in the field to personally monitor the situation. Mohsin Naqvi directed to utilize all available resources to deal with the situation caused by the heavy rain and said that additional staff and machinery should be mobilized to monitor the drains, highways, and waterways. The Interior Minister also directed to ensure speedy drainage of water from the underpasses and other places. He further said that the traffic police should perform their duties in an active manner to maintain the flow of traffic. He added that no effort should be spared to resolve the issues being faced by citizens during the rain. Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa apprised the Interior Minister regarding the steps taken for the drainage of water.
