Naqvi announces extension in electric bus service to RawatBreaking

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has inaugurated the electric bus depot and charging centre in Islamabad, and also announced extension in service to Rawat.On the occasion, Mohsin Naqvi also travelled in an electric bus with the concerned officers. Mohsin Naqvi was given a detailed briefing about the electric bus depot and charging facility.Mohsin Naqvi congratulated the entire team on the successful completion of the project.

Addressing the ceremony, Mohsin Naqvi said 125,000 citizens of Islamabad are traveling in these buses daily.  Mohsin Naqvi said the target has been set to carry the number of passengers to 250,000 per day.He said special care has been taken of the routes of male and female students.  During his speech, Mohsin Naqvi also announced extension of electric bus service to Rawat.? he said electric bus service along with metro is proving helpful in solving traffic problems. ?

Rawalpindi-Islamabad railway service is being restored, Mohsin Naqvi announced.?Heavy Industry Taxila (HIT) is going to start local manufacturing of electric buses in Pakistan, Mohsin Naqvi added. ?Mohsin Naqvi was briefed that there is capacity to install 64 chargers in the depot and 50 have already been installed while 14 more will be installed soon. ?

One charger has the capacity to charge two buses in two hours. Electric buses are running on 21 routes in Islamabad. The project has been integrated with Google.Chief Commissioner Islamabad, IG Islamabad Police, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad and other high-ranking officers were also present on the occasion.
