NAB retrieves 1094 acres of forest land worth Rs 1,312.8 millionBreaking

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Sukkur on Monday has retrieved 1094 acres of forest land worth 1,312.80 million rupees from 57 influential people in Taluk Nara of Sukkur district. According to media reports, this was done following an investigation by NAB Sukkur into cases of encroachment on forest land, illegal allotment, and illegal changes in records. The investigation was approved by the Sindh High Court Sukkur Bench in CP No. 1115/2009. NAB Sukkur obtained relevant records regarding the illegal allotment of forest land from the Revenue Department and Forest Department. It then took steps to hand over the forest land to all concerned federal and Sindh government departments. The revenue authorities have canceled allotment entries which were earlier allotted in favor of private individuals and the said forest land has now been entered in the record of rights in the name of the Forest Department, Government of Sindh.
