The Muslim Council of America has called on newly elected U.S. President Donald Trump to initiate an immediate ceasefire in Palestine and Lebanon. The council stated that Muslims voted against Joe Biden to make the world a cradle of peace, and therefore, Donald Trump should play a role in enforcing a ceasefire before formally taking office.

Speaking to journalists here on Sunday, the chairman of the Muslim Council, Rana Zaman Saeed, said, “We ran a strong campaign titled ‘One Million Muslim Votes for Trump,’ in which we convinced Muslims living in America, as well as voters from other faiths, to vote for Donald Trump, ensuring his success as a result of this campaign.” He further mentioned that Muslim voters played a crucial role in Trump’s victory, and they have high expectations from him to stop the wars in Palestine and Lebanon.

Now, he said, it is the responsibility of the newly elected president to put an end to the ongoing genocide of Muslims in these regions and to secure an immediate ceasefire before assuming office. He added that, to make the world a cradle of peace, it is essential to resolve issues like Palestine and Kashmir through negotiations instead of war, to put an end to the massacre of innocent people.

He expressed hope that Donald Trump would eliminate the Biden administration’s policies based on the division between Muslims and non-Muslims and would play his best role for the welfare of humanity and the establishment of peace in the world.
