MQM-P on Wednesday demanded the federal government to immediately table a bill in the parliament for the passage of 28th Amendment. Addressing a press conference along with other party leaders at Bahadurabad, Karachi, MQM-P Chairman Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that the party supported the government’s efforts to broker a ceasefire in the Gulf since the war could reach Pakistan’s doorstep at any moment.
MQM-P chairman said that the entire nation stood by Pakistan’s armed forces. “Pakistan Army and the government are playing an important role in cooling the situation down in the Gulf,” he added. Siddiqui said that the Pakistan Army was capable of dealing with every type of situation. “Pakistan is committed to mediation so that negotiations between the USA, Israel and Iran could start,” he said, and added that the MQM-P wholeheartedly supported efforts aimed at restoring peace in the region.
