May 20, 2023

The Caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab Mohsin Naqvi on Saturday ‘barred’ the police officials from detaining the female activists of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). According to the details, more than 500 women are wanted in 138 registered cases in account of May 9 vandalism which triggered after the PTI chief arrest from the Islamabad High court. Meanwhile, Naqvi emphasized that women who are found to be involved in vandalism on military installations should not be given any leniency.

The caretaker CM of Punjab also called for the cooperation of the Ladies Police in apprehending women involved in these cases. Naqvi stated that the arrested women should be kept in women’s police stations, providing a safer environment. He further stated that women included in the First Information Reports (FIRs) should be arrested under the provision of the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC). However, in cases where women voluntarily surrender, Naqvi emphasized the need to adhere to protocols and treat them with due consideration.
