Four Frontier Constabulary (FC) personnel and two private security guards were martyred when a group of militants attacked a gas plant in Tall tehsil of Hangu district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the wee hours of Tuesday. Police said the militant stormed the private gas extraction plant in the mountainous region. The security personnel valiantly reacted to the attack but six personnel deployed for security of the plant were martyred in terrorist attack.

Heavy contingent of police and Frontier Corps cordoned off the area after the assault and launched search operation in the area. The attackers targeted two wells - M-8 and M-10 - with heavy weapons including rocket-propelled grenades.  Sources said that up to 50 militants attacked the plant in Hangu district near the Afghan border. No group has yet claimed the responsibility of the attack.
