The FIA anti-corruption arrested LESCO meter reader red-handed while taking bribe and recovered Rs50,000 here on Friday. According to details, SDO LESCO sub-division Sacha Souda Farooqabad Mazhar through two subordinates Muhammad Naveed and Muhammad Nawaz demanded Rs60,000 from Syed Ali Raza of Mehmoodabad from replacing faulty electric meter of his agricultural lands. On directives of District and Session Judge Sheikhupura Mrs Farzana Shehzad Khan, a team headed by Sub-Inspector Muhammad Zeeshan Qasim called the subordinates of SDO near Farooqabad railway crossing to collect the money. Meter reader Muhammad Nawaz reached the scene and collected Rs50,000 from Syed Ali Raza. The FIA anti-corruption team present near the scene arrested the meter reader red-handed along with Rs50,000 bribe money. The investigation into the incident was kicked off.
