إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ

We regret to announce the passing away of the eminent educationist Shahtaj Faruqui, the founding head of the Helen Keller Model Special Education Centre in Islamabad. She dedicated her life to the cause of special education in Pakistan. Mrs. Shahtaj Faruqui is the wife of Salman Faruqui, the former secretary general and federal ombudsman of Pakistan. She is the granddaughter of Nawab Badruddin Haider of Bengal.

The Namaz-e-Janaza will take place at Sultan Masjid, DHA Karachi, on Tuesday after zuhr prayers. She will be laid to rest at PECHS Graveyard, Karachi. Her contribution to education will not be forgotten. May Allah grant her the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdaws.She is survived by her two children, Farhan Faruqui, Shamaila Khan and grandchildren.
