MC Sargodha issues 250 challans, fines shopkeepers Rs. 1.1mlnBreaking

The Municipal Corporation Sargodha (MCS) imposed fines of Rs 176,500 on various shopkeepers and issued 250 challans of Rs 1,110,000 over multiple violations of encroachment laws during the month of August 2023. Chief Officer MCS Muhammad Tariq Proya said that a crackdown against encroachments had been launched and the anti-encroachment team, headed by Regulation Officer MC Zoya Masood, had been inspecting various markets of the city. He said that a total of 20 warning notices were issued to various shopkeepers over encroachment in the last month.

The anti-encroachment team removed temporary encroachments established at Satellite Town, Sherazi Town, and Mission Road and also imposed fines on shopkeepers in Faisal Bazaar, Katchery Bazaar, streets of Block No. 2, General Bus Stand Road, and Qenchi Morr over encroachments during the last month.

The Chief Officer said that the MCS would continue its crackdown against encroachments and warned shopkeepers against encroaching on public land. He said that strict action would be taken against those who violated the law. The crackdown against encroachments is part of the MCS's efforts to improve the city's infrastructure and ensure the smooth flow of traffic. The MCS has also been working to remove illegal billboards and banners from the city.
