Ahead of the Punjab Assembly meeting, speculation arises over Pakistan Muslim League-N's choice for Speaker, with Malik Ahmed emerging as a likely candidate. The decision follows a gathering of the Muslim League-N Punjab Parliamentary Party, presided over by the PMLN nominee for Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz. Zaheer Chanan, victor of the provincial seat from Bahawalpur, is slated to assume the role of Deputy Speaker, as confirmed during the party meeting. In a significant development, Maryam Aurangzeb, the Party's Central Information Secretary, is poised to enter the Punjab Assembly as a member for the first time. The decision was reached following consultations with party leaders Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif. Aurangzeb is expected to lend her expertise to assist the Chief Minister in Punjab province. A seasoned politician, Maryam Aurangzeb has previously served as a Member of the National Assembly twice and held the position of Minister of Information on two occasions within the Federation.
