A delegation of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir chapter briefed Mohammad Azmi Abdul Hamid, President of the Malaysian Consultative Council of Islamic Organizations (MAPIM), about the current human right situation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The delegation, led by Hurriyat leader Altaf Hussain Wani, included Advocate Parvaiz Ahmed, Shameem Shawl, Syed Faiz Naqshbandi and Sheikh Abdul Mateen.
During the meeting, the APHC delegation apprised the Malaysian representatives of the grave human rights situation in IIOJK, highlighting custodial killings, demographic changes and systematic violations by Indian occupying forces. The delegation emphasized that the Indian government's narrative of normalcy in IIOJK is a deceptive tactic aimed at misleading the international community. The delegation also brief Azmi about the Indian government’s agenda of extending Hindutva agenda to IIOJK by constructing temples in an attempt to erase Kashmir’s Muslim identity.
The Malaysian delegation expressed grave concern over the systematic human rights abuses in IIOJK, the demographic changes being imposed by India, and its mechanized efforts to alter the territory’s identity. They assured their commitment to raising awareness about the plight of Kashmiris at both national and international forums.
