In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, residents of Kilshay and its adjoining villages in Gurez have complained of basic health facilities at the New Type Primary Health Centre (PHC). According to Kashmir Media Service, the residents talking to the media said that only single paramedical staff is posted there, which is telling of the smooth functioning of the health centre. Our area consists of about nine villages and only one staffer caters them, they said. About seven posts are vacant in the health centre and the health department is not filling up the vacancies for the benefit of people, Ata Mohammad, a local said. He said that the health authorities concerned should do justice to the poor people here. The hospital is also deprived of medical facilities, he said. The locals appealed to the director Health services Kashmir to look into the matter and depute sufficient staff to the health center.
