In a remote village near Okara, a team of Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) officials was attacked by local villagers here on Saturday. As per reports, the assailants not only took the LESCO officials hostage but also tore apart government files. Swift police intervention ultimately led to the rescue of the injured employees, while one alleged attacker has been apprehended. The incident occurred when a Line Superintendent and Assistant Line Man (ALM) from LESCO ventured into the village as part of their routine work to recover outstanding dues. It quickly escalated into a hostile confrontation, resulting in the officials being taken hostage by irate villagers. Local sources report that the villagers, incensed by the presence of the LESCO team, vented their frustration by forcibly confiscating government files related to electricity bills and infrastructure.
