LESCO arrests 40 suspects, 188 FIRs registered in 41 daysBreaking

The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO's) operation against electricity thieves has completed 41 days, with 40 suspects arrested and 188 cases registered, according to a statement issued by the LESCO spokesperson on Wednesday. During the last 24 hours, 366 connections were found involved in electricity theft in all the districts of LESCO's operation area. FIRs against 365 power thieves were filed in the respective police stations. Among the connections to be captured were 13 commercial, 1 agricultural and 352 domestic connections.

After disconnecting all the connections, the power thieves have been charged 5 lakh 41 thousand 775 units in the form of detection bill worth Rs 2 crore 99 lakh 89 thousand 328. LESCO Chief Executive Engineer Shahid Haider commended the teams involved in the operation for their hard work and dedication. He said that LESCO is committed to curbing electricity theft and ensuring a fair and equitable distribution of electricity to all its consumers.
