The Rawalpindi Bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday has annulled the decision to seal the Lal Haveli of former Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed. High Court judge Justice Mirza Waqas Rauf delivered the verdict, declaring both the ownership registries of Lal Haveli null and void. The High Court also ordered that Lal Haveli be immediately de- sealed, and that the reference department chairman conduct a fresh hearing about the property. Speaking to the media outside the court, Sheikh Rasheed said that Lal Haveli is his property, and that he is ;ethnic and original. He also said that he leaves everything to Allah, and that the Pakistan Army is a great army. Rasheed also apologized for any mistake he may have made, saying that May 9 was a cursed program. He said that he was with the army yesterday and he is still with the army today. It is noted that Lal Haveli has been the political seat of Sheikh Rashid Ahmed for 36 years.
