KP police swing into action after spate of terror attacks, destroy terrorist’s hideouts Breaking

The police in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa swung into action against terrorists’ hideouts in border areas of the province after a string of terror attacks jolted the already fragile law and order situation in the region. A policeman was martyred and several others injured in a number of terror strikes in different cities of the province. The KP police launched and search-and-strike operation against the hideouts of the terrorists and have bombed into submission several temporary hideouts of the banned TTP in border areas of Lakki Marwat. 

The police also destroyed a TTP camp located in mountains of Karak-Mianwali border.  All terror havens in border areas along Punjab in Abbasia Khattak and surrounding areas were also eliminated.  The police officials have vowed to continue the cean-up campaign until the destruction of last terror have in the province.   The KP police thwarted a terrorist attack on Gambela Police Station near Lakki Marwat late Sunday night.  According to details, a group of terrorists tried to target the police station from two sides.

After taking notice of the terrorists’ presence, the police which were already on alert retaliated with sheer force by using heavy weapons.  Heavy exchange of firing between police and terrorists lasted for 15 minutes after which all the terrorists managed to escape from the scene. No loss of life was reported by the KP police.  District Police Officer (DPO) lauded the bravery showed by the policemen for foiling terror attack. He said that the KP police was determined to eliminate menace of terrorism from the province. 

A policeman embraced martyrdom when unidentified assailants opened fire on him on Miran Shah Road in Bannu.  The martyred policeman who was later identified as Arman was targeted near Gul Zaman Masjid.  The deceased cop was performing his duties at the office of Regional Police Officer (RPO).  Soon after the incident, heavy contingent of police reached the area and shifted the dead body of the policeman to District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) in Bannu. 

Two policemen were injured when a lone terrorist targeted them near Jamrud Bypass in Khyber District on Monday.  The two cops injured in the gunfight and the wounded terrorist was also able to flee the scene.  A hand grenade was launched at a Mullazai checkpost located within limits of Reggi Police Station in Peshawar. Luckily no one was hurt in the attack. Terrorist attacks were also reported from KP cities of Karak, Tank and Dera Ismail Khan during last night. The local administration on Sunday imposed curfew in both districts of the Waziristan region.

The deputy commissioners of District South Waziristan Upper, District South Waziristan Lower and Tank have notified the development.   According to the notifications, all roads will remain closed from 6am to 6pm. Wana road will remain closed from Zalayee to New Cadet College. Tanai, Sarvakal and Jandola road will remain closed. In wana, Gomalzam Road will remain open for travelers.
