KP Police officials warn of mass resignations over inapt investigation into Peshawar attackBreaking

Junior Ranking officials of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Force have warned the government of mass resignations if appropriate investigations into Peshawar suicide attack were not conducted. After circulation of such messages in various Whatsapp groups, the Special Branch conveyed Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Police Special Branch, provincial officials and CCP about the sentiment of the employees.

The letter read: “Unknown person in various Whatsapp groups was spreading the message with demands of constituting Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to probe Peshawar Police Lines blast, exposing the elements behind the attacks and bringing culprits to book besides asking junior rank police officials to prepare for mass resignations if demands were not met.”

The letter also quoted the Whatsapp which read as:

  1. If killings of our jawans were not avenged, all KP police will leave service and will submit resignations on same day. (All KPK Police Junior Ranks)
  2. You all should have to unite otherwise this bloodbath will continue. (All KPK Police Junior Ranks)
  3. The third message which was in Pushto language could be translated as: “This was message for all friends and should be shared in more and more groups. If JIT was not formed to probe Peshawar attack and realities were not exposed through press conference, then 1,06,000 police officials of junior ranks would submit resignations in single day. The tweet termed rickshaw drivers and nanbais better than police who at least take to streets to lodge protest for their rights.
