Health Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has formulated an action plan to curb the potential spread of dengue following recent rains and floods across various regions of the province. The plan has been submitted to the Chief Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for approval. Dr. Arshad Roghani, Director of Public Health, highlighted that the strategy encompasses a multi-sectoral approach to effectively manage and control dengue outbreaks. Special teams have been constituted to promptly eradicate dengue larvae to mitigate the disease's impact.
Furthermore, the plan includes the allocation of 300 beds specifically for dengue patients across government hospitals in Peshawar. MTI Hospital is set to designate a separate ward for dengue patients. Additionally, a dedicated dengue control room will be established at the Directorate General Health Services. To ensure effective maintenance and support, the Health Department will collaborate with the Municipalities Department and PDMA.
