KP Governor calls upon FBR to explore measures for industrial sector promotionBreaking

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi on Wednesday called upon the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to explore measures for enhancing sustainable industrial development in different regions of the Khyber Pakhtunkwa province. Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi said this while in a meeting with the Chairman FBR, Malik Amjed Zubair Tiwana and discussed different aspects of ensuring revenue and development of the trade and industrial sector of the province to attain sustainable economic growth and social prosperity in the country. The senior officials of FBR and other concerned officers also attended the meeting, which also deliberated on measures to promote industrial growth in the province. Speaking on the occasion, the governor lauded the efforts of the Federal Government and revenue-collecting authority in developing the industrial sector in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said that the business community of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) plays a major role in revenue contribution to the national treasury. Faisal Karim said that the federal government has already given relief to the KP industrial sector for industrial growth in the provincial economy and now the federal government is also committed to support the industries in the provinces.

He said that the prices of energy for domestic and industrial consumers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are soaring and they need relief. Governor KP said that Ex-FATA and PATA’s industrial sector was given relief by the federal government for five years in the past and still the government is supporting the provincial industrial sector. He said that the industrial sector of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Ex-FATA and PATA has faced the wave of terrorism and during this time, the economy of the province was difficult and the local industrialists maintained their determination and played its role in industrial development in the country. He said that tax relief on salaried persons and utility bills is necessary to create ease for the common man. He said that after consultation with the Chamber of Commerce of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he agrees that the business community of KP wants to play an essential role in the country’s economy. He said all the chambers and business community are ready to contribute revenue to the national exchequer. Meanwhile, in the meeting, Chairman FBR agreed on the stance of Governor KP and assured support for the growth of the industrial sector in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
