KP adviser Saif claims govt bows to PTI’s people powerBreaking

July 09, 2024

Barrister Saif, Adviser on Information for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, declared that the federal government has conceded defeat in the face of PTI's mass support. Speaking to the media on Tuesday, Saif criticized the Islamabad administration for its recent crackdown on PTI workers, including arrests and raids on the homes of PTI leaders. Saif accused the government of employing heavy-handed tactics, moving detained workers to undisclosed locations. He singled out Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah for having a "subversive mentality" reminiscent of the Model Town tragedy.

Touching on international matters, Saif recounted his visits to Afghanistan during the PDM era in July and August 2022. He noted that diplomatic negotiations were abruptly halted following a drone attack on an Afghan leader, leading to a resurgence of terrorism. Criticizing the government's approach, Saif questioned the efficacy of intelligence agencies and their failure to address the alleged presence of 40,000 Taliban.  He urged the government to focus on real issues instead of resorting to baseless accusations. Saif also highlighted the dire situation in Sindh and Thar, where children are dying of hunger and crime rates in Karachi remain high. He called out the lack of attention to these crises, contrasting them with the political turmoil in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
