The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has foiled an attempt of “China cutting” of graves in the Sakhi Hassan graveyard in the North Nazimabad neighbourhood of Karachi.Certain elements overnight constructed 18 fake graves along the boundary wall road of the Sakhi Hassan graveyard all at once. Taking notice of the incident, the KMC Graveyard Department conducted an operation and bulldozed all the fake graves in the cemetery.

Director of Graveyards Iqbal Pervez informed authorities that further burials have been barred because the graveyard has reached full capacity. He added that the land-grabbing mafia constructed the 18 fake graves on the road inside the graveyard along the boundary wall.He stated that legal action will be taken against those involved in constructing the fake graves. The department has also sent a report to Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab regarding the illegal construction of fake graves at the Sakhi Hassan graveyard.
