Khosa questions police absence on route to Corps Commander HouseBreaking

May 09, 2024

Sardar Latif Khosa, a prominent leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has raised eyebrows concerning the number of police checkpoints en route to the Corps Commander House and the absence of police on May 9. In a recent appearance on a private channel program, Khosa emphasized the need for accountability, stating that those seeking forgiveness should do so. He highlighted the enduring imposition of martial law in the country for 35 years. Khosa reiterated PTI's longstanding demand for a judicial inquiry into the events of May 9, urging prompt action. He stressed the importance of transparency, stating, "If you're calling for it, why delay? Conduct a judicial inquiry to uncover the truth." Calling for retrospective action, Khosa suggested that commissions should be formed not only for past incidents but also for recent occurrences, including the perceived targeting of PTI members under the London Plan.

He demanded the release of Imran Khan, labeling him a political prisoner. The absence of police presence on May 9 and the numerous hurdles leading to the Corps Commander House have prompted further scrutiny. Additionally, Barrister Gohar Khan, PTI Chairman, emphasized the necessity of transparent elections, contradicting government opposition to certain amendments. In a decisive move, Khosa rejected accusations labeling PTI as a conspiratorial group, asserting its popularity and representation across all four provinces. He called for accountability regarding Imran Khan's alleged abduction, demanding the release of CCTV footage to corroborate claims.
