In Mianwali's Isa Khel area, the police successfully repelled an attack by Khawarij terrorists on the Qabul Khel Checkpost following an effective counter-operation, forcing the assailants to flee on late Sunday night. According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, 12 to 14 Khawarij terrorists attacked the checkpost using rockets and hand grenades, resulting in two police officers sustaining minor injuries in the attack. The terrorists attempted to exploit the cover of darkness to launch their assault, but the police personnel stationed at the checkpost were on high alert and retaliated with heavy gunfire, which led to the attackers' retreat. Following the incident, District Police Officer (DPO) Mianwali Akhtar Farooq arrived at the scene to boost the morale of the officers and praised their bravery.

The Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Isa Khel and the Station House Officer (SHO) were also rushed to the checkpost with additional forces. The police spokesperson said a search operation has been launched in the area to capture the fleeing terrorists, who are believed to have suffered significant losses. Inspector General (IG) Punjab Dr Usman Anwar commended the police officers of the Qabul Khel checkpost for their bravery in thwarting the terrorist attack, marking the ninth such attack on Punjab Police in recent months that has been successfully repelled. The IG Punjab emphasised that police stand as a strong defence against terrorists at inter-provincial border posts and will continue to thwart enemy plans in the future.
