Jhelum police have arrested 27 accused of six criminal gangs during massive crackdowns besides recovering arms, cash and jewelry worth millions of rupees. District Police Officer (DPO) Jhelum, Nasir Mehmood Bajwa said on Wednesday that the in the wake of surge in crimes, the police conducted district wide operations against criminals. He said that during various actions, the police arrested two women among 27 accused of six criminal gangs wanted in murders, kidnapping for ransom, robberies, street crimes and other criminal cases.The DPO Jhelum said that police recovered Rs4 million cash, stolen valuables valuing over Rs10 million, 13 pistols, 12 stolen motorcycles, jewelry and cellphones.He said that the busted gangs including Bali Gang, Niazi Gang and Deema Gang who have admitted of committed crimines in various districts of Punjab. Nasir Bajwa said that the nabbed culprits were wanted by Dina, Domeli, Kala Gujran, Jalapur Sharif and Pind Dadan police stations.
