Former army chief General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa is under treatment at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Rawalpindi after sustaining injuries due to a fall at his home.According to a statement issued on Thursday, military’s media wing, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), said General Bajwa is currently under treatment at CMH. The retired general fell in the washroom of his home at around 4:30 am on Tuesday, sustaining multiple injuries. He was immediately taken to the hospital in Rawalpindi for medical care.
Family sources said he suffered a head injury and is under treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), where doctors are closely monitoring his condition.He was appointed to the position by former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and later received a three-year extension in tenure during the government of former Prime Minister Imran Khan.Qamar Javed Bajwa, Nishan-i-Imtiaz (Military), is a retired four-star general who served as the 16th Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan from November 2016 to November 2022.
