Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Dr Akbar Nasir Khan, has established 12 dispute resolution centers in Islamabad. Conciliation Centers will work to provide immediate relief to the citizens and resolve their civil disputes including domestic, property, transactions and other important issues promptly and on merit. According to the details, Following the special directives of IGP Islamabad, 12 conciliation centers have been established in the offices of Sub-Divisional Police Officers in the federal capital Islamabad, which include Abpara, Kohsar, Bhara Kahu, Bani Gala, Margalla, Shalimar, Industrial Area, Sabzi Mandi, Shahzad Town, Nellore, Sahala and Saddar, for prompt action on the citizens applications, quick and merit-based resolution of the problems faced by them. After approval by the Chief Commissioner Islamabad, a formal notification was issued, conciliation centers to provide immediate relief to the citizens and for quick and merit-based resolution of their civil disputes, including domestic, property, transactions and other matters.
The Centers will include experienced, highly educated honorable members from various sections of society, who will perform their duties in good faith and efficient manner. These members will be appointed by the government and in consultation with the Islamabad High Court. However, until the members of the center are appointed, the parties in these centers can nominate trusted persons of their choice to solve their problems before going to the court. If the petitioner files an application in any court before reaching the conciliation centers, his case will not be pursue in the conciliation center. The objective of establishment of conciliation centers is to separate police stations from personal problems, provide maximum relief to citizens on merit and priority basis, promote community policing between police and public and save the valuable time of police and public.
