The Ministry of Economic Affairs successfully concluded a four-day workshop on Country Procurement, Integrity, and Financial Management, held in collaboration with the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) from May 27th to 30th in Islamabad. The event brought together key stakeholders from government ministries, departments, provincial agencies, and international partners. The workshop aimed to enhance transparency, efficiency, and effectiveness in Pakistan's financial management and procurement processes. Participants received comprehensive training on the latest policies, strategies, and integrity measures critical for responsible use of public resources. IsDB experts facilitated the sessions, providing valuable insights into global best practices and tailored advice for Pakistan's specific challenges. The program incorporated interactive sessions, case studies, and practical exercises to deepen participants' understanding of procurement and financial management. The workshop fostered a collaborative approach, encouraging dialogue and knowledge sharing among participants.

Dr. Kazim Niaz, Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, inaugurated the workshop. Mr. Muhammad Humair Karim, Special Secretary, concluded the event by awarding certificates and expressing gratitude to all participants and facilitators. "This workshop underscores our commitment to improving governance and ensuring public resources are managed with the highest integrity and efficiency," said Mr. Karim. He extended his appreciation to the IsDB for their support and expertise. Mr. Ezzeddine Nciri, Director of the IsDB's Integrity and Ethics Department, emphasized the importance of continuous capacity building and international cooperation. "Our collaboration aims to build resilient institutions that can effectively manage resources and drive economic growth," he stated. The workshop's outcomes are expected to play a significant role in strengthening Pakistan's financial management and procurement systems, ultimately contributing to the country's socio-economic development.
