Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi here on Friday visited the Federal Constabulary (FC) Training Centre in Shabqadar, where he inspected special training exercises of the Anti-Riot Wing and commended the personnel for their professional skills, modern training and operational preparedness.The interior minister witnessed various practical exercises conducted by Anti-Riot Wing personnel, who demonstrated their professional capabilities in crowd control, protection of sensitive locations, handling violent situations and maintaining law and order.
“The Anti-Riot Force has been trained on modern lines and is fully prepared and capable of dealing with any law-and-order situation,” Mohsin Naqvi said. He stressed that the government would not allow anyone to undermine peace, stability and law and order in the country.“Peaceful protest is the right of every citizen. The law clearly defines the procedure for holding protests, and no one has any objection to peaceful demonstrations conducted within the framework of the law,” he said.
However, Mohsin Naqvi said no one could be allowed to use protests as a pretext for violence, vandalism, damaging public or private property, or disrupting law and order.He said the state would fulfill its responsibility to maintain peace and order and that those who took the law into their own hands would be dealt with in accordance with the law. “The role of the Federal Constabulary is extremely important across the country in the prevailing law-and-order situation,” Mohsin Naqvi said.
Addressing the personnel, the minister urged them to prepare themselves to meet all kinds of challenges. “You have to be ready to face every kind of challenge.Complete your training with full dedication and enter the field with complete professional preparedness,” he said. The interior minister said the personnel were being provided with modern protection gear meeting international standards to ensure their safety and operational capability in the field.He also directed that gas masks be provided to all personnel.
“You have been given special attention in your training. Complete every aspect of your training with hard work, dedication and a complete professional spirit,” he said. The interior minister also announced that the FC headquarters would be equipped with better sports facilities, including a world-class swimming pool.
