‘India systematically violating international laws, conventions in IIOJK’Breaking

January 17, 2025

India is systematically violating international laws and conventions in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. A report released by Kashmir Media Service, said illegal and unilateral revocation of IIOJK’s special status by the Modi regime is a clear breach of established principles of international law.

It said India is depriving the Kashmiri people of their fundamental rights, contravening multiple international human rights frameworks. India’s efforts to alter IIOJK’s demographic makeup violate the Fourth Geneva Convention, it added. The report said India has shown persistent disregard for United Nations resolutions on Kashmir, adding the right to self-determination for Kashmiris is a legally binding commitment under internal law that India continues to ignore.

It maintained that the United Nations must act decisively to uphold its own resolutions on Kashmir and hold India accountable. The world community must impose sanctions on India for its blatant violations of international law and human rights in IIOJK, the report said and added that India could not suppress the will of the Kashmiri people by flagrantly violating global norms and legal frameworks.  The report concluded that Indian perpetrators of atrocities in IIOJK must be held accountable and brought to justice.
