Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidari, General Secretary of Jamiat Ulema Islam (F), announced that Imran Khan, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan and leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), may be released as early as tomorrow, following the release of Bushra Bibi. Speaking to the media in Chiniot, Maulana Haidari expressed confidence in Khan's imminent freedom, highlighting PTI's role in supporting the recent 26th constitutional amendment.
He noted that the PTI leadership had collaborated closely with JUI-F on the amendment, even providing the entire draft after negotiations were finalized. Haider pointed out that all PTI leaders, except for Khan, endorsed the draft without raising any objections. However, he mentioned that the incarceration of PTI leaders prevented them from casting their votes in favor of the amendment. This statement comes amid ongoing political developments in Pakistan, raising questions about the future of PTI and its leadership as they navigate the current legal and political landscape.
