A fresh contempt of court petition has been filed in Pakistan's Supreme Court over the alleged denial of family meetings and phone calls to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan at Adiala Jail. According to the channel report, Dr Uzma Khan, Imran Khan's sister, filed the petition after family members were reportedly prevented from meeting the former prime minister. The petition also includes additional documents in support of her case. The petition claims that an August 18 court order was not followed.

It alleges that Imran Khan was not provided with the facility to make telephone calls to his sons and that his family was prevented from meeting him. Dr Uzma Khan, Aleema Khan and Qasim Zaman are among those who were allegedly stopped from meeting the PTI founder. The development follows a report that no family member or lawyer was allowed to meet Imran Khan at Adiala Jail on Tuesday, the scheduled day for meetings. Members of Bushra Bibi's family were also reportedly denied access.

According to the report, Imran Khan's three sisters, Aleema Khan, Uzma Khan and Noreen Niazi, travelled to Adiala Jail to meet him but were not allowed to enter for the meeting. PTI founder's spokesperson Niazullah Niazi also reached the prison but was stopped by police at the Dahgal checkpoint. Several of Imran Khan's lawyers, including Khalid Yousuf Chaudhry, Ali Zaman and Khawaja Farooq Ahmed, also travelled to the jail to meet their client. Police stopped them at the Factory checkpoint, preventing them from reaching the prison.
