The Islamabad High Court (IHC), hearing the petition against ban on ‘X’, formerly known as Twitter, on Tuesday summoned the concerned officer of the Ministry of Interior on April 3. IHC Chief Justice (CJ) Justice Aamer Farooq heard the petition filed by Ihtesham Abbasi, a journalist. Pakistan Telecommunication Authority’s (PTA) lawyer, on the occasion, submitted to the court the Authority’s reply in the case. He also presented in the court a letter, enclosed in an envelope, and said that was for the court to see. “But there is nothing in it,” the CJ remarked, and asked the lawyer to also show the letter to the petitioner’s lawyer Sardar Masroof. However, Sardar informed the court that the letter had already been posted on social media.
