Bipolar disorder is a mental health condition that causes extreme mood swings, from mania to depression. It can be a debilitating condition, but it is treatable with medication and therapy. The news that dozens of Punjab Police officers have been diagnosed with bipolar disorder is a reminder of the challenges that police officers face. They are often exposed to traumatic events, which can lead to mental health problems such as PTSD and bipolar disorder. It is important to provide police officers with the support they need to cope with the challenges of their job. This includes access to mental health care and other support services.
