Heroin smuggling bid foiled, three held in MardanBreaking

The Excise police foiled a bid to smuggle heroin abroad and arrested three including key accused with swallowed capsules and his two facilitators here on Thursday. The Excise police Mardan region on a tip-off intercepted a suspected vehicle Ring Road Chamtar Chowk in Mardan with three people onboard heading to Islamabad International Airport. The police detained key accused identified as Naveed hailing from Kot Radha Kishan, district Kasur and his two facilitators.

The key accused was taken to MMC Hospital where 57 swallowed capsules of heroin from his stomach. During the investigation, the accused disclosed that they were taking the smuggler to Islamabad from where he had a flight to Dubai. The Excise police took into custody the passport of the accused and started a further investigation after registering a case.
