In a significant move to boost the development of the region, the Committee, after a detailed briefing from the Secretary of Defence Production and the Senior Member of the Board of Revenue, Balochistan, has unanimously decided to initiate the mega project of the Gwadar Shipyard.  The Committee has directed the Ministry of Defence Production and the Government of Balochistan to begin the project in consultation with local notables and parliamentarians from the Gwadar region.  

This collaborative approach aims to ensure that the project aligns with the needs of the local community and fosters greater engagement and support from all stakeholders.Chairman of the Committee Senator Abdul Qadir said that committee will act as a bridge between government of Balochistan, defence ministry and federal government to resolve the issue of 750 acres of land. He further said that the committee will also provide all out assistance in providing funds for the land, if needed.

He said that land allocation will help in feasibility of the project as without feasibility the project will not be able to see the light of the day.  In attendance were Senators Senator Rana Mahmood ul Hassan, Senator Dost Ali Jeesar, Senator Aon Abbas, Senator Abdul Shakoor Khan and Senator Jan Muhammad along with other senior officials of relevant Departments.
